DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- NASCAR has launched the second semester of the NASCAR Kinetics: Marketing in Motion program. The program is featured at six universities, one more than last year. The returning schools are Winston Salem State University, Howard University, Central Michigan University, and Clark Atlanta University; the new additions are University of Notre Dame and Coastal Carolina University. The University of Texas Pan-America did not return for Fall 2009.
Five students are selected from each school to compete in NASCAR Kinetics, which begins in September and continues until the end of November. NASCAR Kinetics immerses students into the business world of NASCAR through real world situations and obstacles. Students will have the opportunity to improve their marketing skills through hands-on assignments within the program.
Students will complete four case studies and compete for a trip to South Beach Miami in November. The top three schools will win the trip to Miami to present their final case study to a panel of NASCAR judges. The Grand Prize winner will be based on case study performance throughout the semester, phone presentation, onsite presentation and creativity.
The grand prize will consist of an all expense paid, three day four night trip to Miami for Ford Championship Weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Students will have the opportunity to ask NASCAR and its partner professionals questions and, more importantly, experience the excitement of NASCAR.
